WOW!! What a long weekend we had at the baseball tournament! This was the first tourney we have had in this league and the 1st one the team has played in together. They took 2nd! We have never had to travel for a tournament before, we could come home between games and rest in the air conditioning. This time we were far enough from home(45 miles) that that was not possible. We played on both Saturday and Sunday. Brenn played so well. He is 12 and his team is 14 year olds. He started and has been placed as 4th batter. We were so happy for him, that is quite an accomplishment for him. The 1st day he hit a double and hit 2 players in. They won the 1st game was 10 to 0....the second was 0-11...The team that beat them we met in the Championship game and they have been playing together for 4 years. That team was fun to watch(when they were not beating our boys) and were so well oiled it was amazing. They were an Elite team which is 2 steps above our team.
This is the 1st day.....(I need to apologize for the chain link fence being in the way, we were not allowed to get near the players and so the fence was a constant barrier and that does not make for good photo ops.)
The second day came with a change of color and more games. Brenn did not sit one inning. He was exhausted. He hit and walked and did not strike out! They won the 1st game on Sunday afternoon 9 to 5 and that gave them a spot in the Championship game. I need to mention that the Champ game was slated to start at 8 then they moved it to 8:15...the game was called at start time at 8:37 and there no time limit to Champ games...we are 1 hour from home on a school night after 2 long days in the sun....I was not a happy mom! They lost the Championship game 8 to 2, but they improved against the team that beat them 11-0 the day before. We were exhausted! To top it off...there is a Trophy ceremony. I can see the boys fading and wanting to get home but they stayed for the trophies and were all smiles!

Way to go Fury! Brenn sounds like quite the athlete - what a stud!!!! I hope you all managed a sound night's sleep last night, you needed it!
What an exhausting week-end, yet a great outcome! I'm a 'Fury Fan' and Brenner is my baseball Hero!! Loved the photos!
